 APRIL NEWSLETTER  -  Buyers beware!  Have we reached the stainless pricing summit? It does not appear that we have so buyers beware. As of today, Nickel is trading at an average of $22.93 per pound. This is over a $1.60 a pound more than March averages and will increase the June stainless surcharges to an unprecedented level.  March nickel averaged $21.01 per pound versus $18.68 per pound in February jumping the May 304/304L surcharges up 27 cents to $2.0128 per pound and316/316L surcharges followed with an increase 38 cents per lb to make Mays number a whopping $3.0543 per pound.  Not sure at this point when the bubble will bust. General business conditions are still strong and the higher stainless pricing is not having a major impact.  Please email us back with your thoughts/feedback.  Stainless leads time are still 6 to 16 weeks. 

Carbon base prices are on the rise and surcharges are tweaking up.  Lead times are 5 to 8 weeks on an average.
