Nickel,
Moly, and Chrome are up, up, up! July’s Nickel average was $7.2505
versus June’s $6.7900. July’s Moly average was $12.7050 versus
June’s $ $10.3400. July’s Chrome average was $0.8500 versus June’s
$0.7800. The September surcharge for 304/304L is $0.6634/lb, the
316/316L surcharge $1.0090/lb. This is an increase in the August
surcharges of $0.0834 and $0.1488 respectively.
Stainless mill lead
times are 6-8 weeks.
The
chart above shows the progression of Nickel pricing from May 1, 2009
through today. The Nickel average for the month of August is $8.84
as of August 11. This will cause a significant increase in
surcharges for October.
