FEBRUARY NEWS    Back up we go. March surcharges are on the rise. January nickel increased 77 cents a pound to average the month at $12.56.  This will boost the March 304/304L surcharge to $1.4141 per pound up from February $1.3008. Moly pricing ticked up also and will push  the 316/316L surcharge in March to $2.3520 per pound.  Nickel averages so far this month look to keep both 304/304L and 316/316L in check at the same pricing levels for April.

Stainless mills are cutting back production to keep prices stable.
Stainless mill lead times 5-10 weeks

Carbon on the other hand is a different story; lead times and prices are cranking up. A NEW INCREASE OF $4.00 PER HUNDRED WAS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY.Carbon lead times are pushing out 7 to 10 weeks.
