The February Fall

Nickel is on the front seat of a roller coaster; up and down it goes.  February surcharges will drop and then rebound slightly in March.  Nickel for the month of December plummeted to $11.79 per pound vrs November $13.89 per pound. The January 304/304L Surcharge will be $1.3008 per pound. Moly actually gained ground in price but the nickel will offset the slight gain and decrease the February 316/316L surcharge to $2.1988 per pound.  Nickel is trading about a dollar higher this month, so March should see some upward movement.

Stainless mill lead times are 5 to 10 weeks. Carbon mills have implemented an increase to the market.  Lead times remain 6 to 9 weeks to ship.
