OCTOBER NEWSLETTER - Nickel pushes upward to stop the recent downward trends. September nickel averaged $13.98 per pound versus August $12.54 per pound. This will increase the 304/304L surcharge in November to be $1.3632 per pound, up about 10 cents. Molybdenum prices have stabilized for now around the mid 31 dollar range. Due to the jump in nickel, the November 316/316L surcharge will be $2.2982 per pound. This is again about a 10 cent increase over October numbers.

Stainless mill lead times are 5 to 10 weeks to ship.

As for carbon steel, it has been announced that heat treated material will increase by the end of the year; lead times from the mill are still approximately 5 to 9 weeks to ship.
